western (silent).  It stars William S. Hart,
born December 6, 1864.  It is on the
National Film Registry.

The White Reindeer (1952) is a Finnish
movie about a woman who consults a
shaman but is turned into a white reindeer
vampire.  Combines fantasy and horror.
Finland's independence day is December 6
(1917).

Harlan County, U.S.A. (1976) is a documentary
about a bitter and violent coal miners strike in
Kentucky.  It is on the National Film Registry and
won an Oscar for Best Feature Documentary.  December
6 is National Miners Day.  Kentucky was admitted to
the Union June 1, 1792.  A very good movie.
