Today's movies mark baseball and the birthdays of Shakespeare and Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

Angels in the Outfield (1951) is a family
comedy fantasy about baseball and the
Pittsburgh Pirates team and angels.  April
is the traditional month when the baseball
season starts.  See also a remake in 1994
with the California Angels.

Macbeth (1948) is a film version
of the great Shakespearean tragedy
starring Orson Welles.  Shakespeare was

at the life and works of the great 19th century
British civil engineer and architect Isambard
Kingdom Brunel, born April 9, 1806.  This movie
won an Oscar for Best Short Film- Animated.
