about three World War II veterans trying to put their
lives back together. This inspiring movie won Oscars
for Best Picture, Directing, Best Actor, to Fredric March
(born August 8, 1897), Supporting Actor, to Harold Russell,
Adapted Screenplay, to Robert Sherwood, Film Editing,
and Score. This movie is on the National Film Registry.
Today is Veterans Day- the holiday is tomorrow. Russell also
won a Special Oscar and Golden Globe for non-professional
acting and bringing hope and courage to other veterans.

about brothers in 1870s Russia
vying over a family inheritance. It is
based on the novel by famed writer
Fyodor Dostoevsky, who was born
November 11, 1821.

Pilgrim from Ilium, New York, who is
"unstuck" in time and with aliens. It is based
on the fantasy and science fiction novel of the
same name by Kurt Vonnegut, born November
11, 1922. It is has comedic and surreal aspects.
