The Caine Mutiny (1954) is an excellent
movie about a mutiny on a naval vessel during
World War II and the ensuing court martial.
It is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by
Herman Wouk, born May 27, 1915. It was a TV movie
in 1988 and also in 1956. The 1956 version won Emmys
for Best Actor, to Lloyd Nolan, Best TV Adaptation, and
Directing.

A Man Called Peter (1955) is based on
the life of Peter Marshall, a Scotsman who
becomes a clergyman and United States Senate
chaplain. Marshall was born May 27, 1902.
A Man Called Peter
Ship of Fools (1965) is an excellent movie
about a luxury cruise just before World War
II. It won Oscars for Cinematography and
Art Direction/Set Decoration. The RMS Queen
Mary had its maiden voyage May 27, 1936.
