Movies for the Day, Monday, June 24, 2019

Today's movies mark a Scottish holiday, the birthday of Ambrose Pierce, and June graduations.

Which of today's movies would you watch?

Tight Little Island (1949) is an excellent
comedy about a World War II ship loaded with
whisky sinking off the coast of a Scottish
island.  June 24 (1314) is Bannockburn Day,
commemorating the battle where Robert Burns
won independence for Scotland.

about a Civil War execution, aka
La Riviere du Hibou.  It is based on the
story by Ambrose Pierce, born June 24,
1842.  It won an Oscar for Best Live
Action Short Subject.
