Today's movies mark the birthdays of Edna Ferber, Napolean, and Jennifer Lawrence.

Cimarron (1931) is a classic award-winning
western based on the novel by Edna
Ferber, born August 15, 1887.
It is set in turn of the century Oklahoma.  It won
Oscars for Best Picture, Adapted Screenplay, and
Interior Decoration.  It was remade in 1960.

Eagle in a Cage (1972) is about Napolean in exile
on St. Helena.  Napolean was born August 15,
1769.  Eagle in a Cage was also a Hallmark
Hall of Fame episode in 1966.  The HHF show
won Emmys for Supporting Actor, to James Daly, and for
Writing.

Silver Linings Playbook (2012) is a story
of family, bipolar disorder, and romance.
This romantic comedy won an Oscar
for Leading Actress, to Jennifer Lawrence,
born August 15, 1990.
