Today's movies mark the birthdays of Dana Delaney and William Macy and Deaf History Month.

Love Is Never Silent (1985) is about a young
woman struggling between her need for
independence and her obligations to her deaf
parents in this Depression-era drama.  March
is Deaf History Month.  This TV movie, aired
by the Hallmark Hall of Fame series, won
Emmys for Directing and Outstanding Drama
or Comedy Special.


Love Is Never Silent









China Beach (1988 - 1991) is a TV
series about a nurse at at evac field
hospital during the Vietnam War.  Its
four seasons had 62 episodes.  It starred
Dana Delaney as nurse Colleen McMurphy.
Delaney was born March 13, 1956.  The show
won Emmys for Costuming (1988), Lead Actress,
to Delaney (1989, 1992), Supporting Actress, to
Marg Helgenberger (1990), and Sound Mixing (1990).

Door to Door (2002) is a TV movie
about a man with cerebral palsy who becomes
a successful door to door salesman.  It stars William
H. Macy, born March 13, 1950, who won an Emmy
as Lead Actor.  The movie also won Emmys for
Directing, Writing, Makeup (prosthetic), Hairstyling,
and as Outstanding Made for TV Movie.  This
inspiring film is based on the life of Bill Porter (September
9, 1932 to December 3, 2013).
