Today's movies mark a stamp anniversary, a helicopter anniversary, and the birthday of a singer and songwriter who died young.

The Saint in Palm Springs (1941) finds him involved
in intrigue over the delivery of valuable rare
stamps.  The American Philatelic Society was
established this date, September 14, in 1886.

Airwolf (January 22, 1984 to August 7, 1987)
stars a high tech military helicopter.  This action
series lasted four seasons and 79 episodes.  The first
practical helicopter flight took place in
Stratford, Connecticut, on September 14,
1939.  It was designed by Igor Sikorsky.  The series
won an Emmy for Makeup.  Some notable episodes
included Firestorm, Eagles, and The Horn of
Plenty.

Amy (2015) is the life of singer/songwriter
Amy Winehouse, who died young.   Born
September 14, 1983, she died July 23, 2011.
The movie won an Oscar for Feature
Documentary.
