Today's movies mark the birthdays of actress Julie Andrews and of actor Walter Matthau and the premiere of a zombie movie.




Mary Poppins (1964) is the story of a magical
nanny in London, circa 1910.  This Disney musical
stars Julie Andrews, born October 1, 1935.  The movie

the National Film Registry.  The movie won Oscars for
Best Actress (Andrews), Score, Original Song,

October 1, 1968 (October is Halloween
month).
