NYPD Blue (1993 to 2005) is an acclaimed
television series about a New York City
police precinct.  It won many Emmys during
its 261 episodes, including Lead Actor, to
Dennis Franz (1994, 1996, 1997, 1999), Outstanding Drama Series
(1995), Supporting Actress, to Kim
Delaney (1997), and Supporting Actor, to Gordon
Clapp.   This week is Police Week (begun
May 13).

of Orthodox Jews in Jerusalem.
Today, May 14, 1948, is Israeli
Independence Day.

All About My Mother (1999) is about a mother
who loses a son and her subsequent
relationships.  This movie won an Oscar
for Best Foreign Language Film.  Yesterday
was Mother's Day.
