Today's movies mark Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Police Week, and Mother's Day.







Daughter of Shanghai (1937) is about a Chinese-
American woman who seeks to expose a
smuggling ring.  This actioner is on the National
Film Registry.   May is Asian American and
Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

two New York City detectives
who investigate a murder.  This
movie won Oscars for Cinematography
and Film Editing.  Today begins
Police Week.

a woman raising her son (age 8) alone, her
devotion to him, and family.  Today is
Mother's Day.
