Today's movies mark the release of Jurassic Park, Gay Pride Month, and the birthday of Hugh Laurie.








Gertie the Dinosaur (1914) is an  early
animated dinosaur movie, silent and 12 minutes
long.  This great cartoon about a vaudeville
dinosaur anticipates the greatest dinosuar
movie ever, Jurassic Park, released June 11,
1993.

Maedchen in Uniform (1931) is about
a student'/teacher lesbian relationship
at a girls boarding school.  It was remade
in 1958.  June is Gay Pride Month.

House M.D. (2004-2012) is a television
medical drama about a brilliant diagnostician
and his personal demons.  It lasted 176
episodes.  This series won Emmys for Writing (2005),
Prosthetic Makeup (2007), Directing (2008), and
Sound Mixing (2009 and 2011).  Hugh Laurie
stars as Dr. Gregory House.  Laurie was born
June 11, 1959.
