Movies for the Day, Monday, June 4, 2018

Today's movies mark Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month, the Stanley Cup finals, and Gay Pride Month.







The Curse of the Cat People (1944) is about
a lonely little girl who conjures up a vision
of her father's mysterious first wife.  This sequel
 to The Cat People is more fantasy than horror.
May is Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month but these cats
are not up for adoption.

Hockey Night (1984) is about a
girl goalie and the challenges she
faces.  Mostly for teens and preteens.
This is Stanley Cup hockey
championship finals time for
the professional National Hockey
League.

Brokeback Mountain (2005) is about
ranch hands who have a sexual affair.
This movie won Academy Awards for Directing (Ang
Lee), Adapted Screenplay, and Original Score.
June is Gay Pride Month.
