Today's movies mark a German holiday, a Mickey Mouse anniversary, and a a Chinese holiday.  Which of today's selections would you watch?









M (1931) is a classic movie about
a psychotic child murderer brought to
justice by the Berlin underworld.  A 1951
remake is set in Los Angeles.  Today
is Reunification Day in Germany, dating
from October 3, 1990.

The Mickey Mouse Club (1955-1958) is
a very popular youth variety show hosted
by Mickey Mouse.  The show premiered
October 3, 1955.  Mickey Mouse first appeared
as Steamboat Willie on November 18,
1928 (Mickey Mouse's birthday).  The
show won an Emmy in 1956 as Best Children's
Series.  The series had 175 episodes.

Raise the Red Lantern (1991) is a
historical drama about 1920s China
and concubines and noblemen.  October
1 is China's National Holiday.  See also
