about Brian Piccolo, a professional football
player on the 1960s Chicago Bears who is dying
of a terminal illness. It is also about race relations.
Piccolo was born October 31, 1943, and died June 16,
1970. Piccolo was a Wake Forest University football
player stricken with cancer after turning pro. The movie
won Emmys for Acting, to Jack Warden, Writing, and
Outstanding Single Program.
