trial." This fantasy won Oscars for Supporting
Actor, to Edmund Gwenn (born September 26,
1877), Original Screenplay, and Adapted Screenplay.
It is on the National Film Registry. It was remade in
1994. A 1956 TV version was nominated for an Emmy for
Best TV Adaptation- aired as an episode of The 20th Century-
Fox Hour. Christmas is December 25.
