a popular prime time variety show starring
Steve Allen. Allen had the first late night
talk show on TV, Tonight Show Starring Steve
Allen (1954 to 1957), which set the template for
The Tonight Show with Jack Paar, Johnny Carson,
Jay Leno, and Jimmy Fallon. Allen was born
December 26, 1921. During its six seasons, the show was
nominated for many Emmys and won an Emmy for
Best Supporting Actor, to Tom Poston.

TwentyFourSeven (1997) is about young
aimless men joining a boxing club to give
them purpose. This gritty British movie is the
first of director Shane Meadows' trilogy which
includes A Room for Romeo Brass (2000) (adolescents)
and Once Upon a Time in the Midlands (2002)
(criminal returns home). Meadows was born December
26, 1972.
