Day for Night (1973) is about a director trying
to make a movie, based on experiences of famous
director Francois Truffaut, born February 6,
1932. This very good movie won an Oscar as
Best Foreign Film. Academy Awards night in 2019 is
February 24.

Once Were Warriors (1994) is about
an urbanized family descended from the
Maori in New Zealand with an abusive
husband. Today, February 6 (1840) is
New Zealand's National Day, Waitangi
Day. A very good movie.

Mystic River (2005) is a tale of three
Boston pals, one a cop, and friendship,
murder, neighborhood ties, and a criminal
code of honor. Massachusetts ratified the
Constitution on February 6, 1788. This movie won
Oscars for Best Actor, to Sean Penn, and
Best Supporting Actor, to Tim Robbins.
