Today's movies mark the birthday of Sal Mineo, Redwood National Park, and Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Dino (1957) is a Studio One episode
starring Sal Mineo as a juvenile
delinquent.  Mineo was nominated for an
Emmy for Best Single Performance by an
Actor.  He was born January 10, 1939.

The Redwoods (1967) was produced
by the Sierra Club to promote saving
the redwoods.  The Redwood National Forest
was established January 1, 1968.  This
film won an Oscar for Best Documentary,
Short Subject.

The Garden of the Finzi-Continis (1970) is about
a noble Jewish family during 1930s World War II
Italy and the persecution of the Jews.  This excellent
movie won an Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
January 27 is United Nations International Day of
Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the
Holocaust.
