Today's movies mark the birthdays of Sergio Leone, Mel Gibson, and Alaska.

For a Few Dollars More (1965) is a
western about a bounty hunters and outlaws.
It is the second in the so-called Dollar Trilogy of
"spaghetti" westerns from Sergio Leone, born
January 3, 1929.  It stars Clint Eastwood, born May
31, 1930.  Preceded by A Fistful of Dollars (1964)
and followed by The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
(1966).   See also Once Upon a Time in the West
(1968), which is considered an western operatic
masterpiece which is on the National Film Registry.

Lethal Weapon (1987) is a very popular
action crime thriller focused on a pair of
cops.  It stars Mel Gibson, born January 3,

Limbo (1999) is a drama about
the characters' difficult lives in Alaska.
Alaska was admitted to the Union January 3,
1959.  A very good movie.
