Friday, March 3, 2017:  today's movies celebrate actress Jean Harlow, born this day in 1911, inventor Alexander Graham Bell, born this day in 1847, and actor Bobby Driscoll, born this day in 1937.



Hell's Angels
is a 1930 film about World War I aviators.
It was the movie that launched actress Jean Harlow, born
March 3, 1911, to stardom.  It featured her famous
quote, "Would you be shocked if I put on something
more comfortable?"  It was a Howard Hughes (born
December 24, 1905) film.

The Story of Alexander Graham Bell, released in 1939, is
the biography of the famed inventor of the telephone.  Bell
was born this day in 1847.

1949 saw the release of The Window, a thriller
in which a boy sees a murder but cannot
convince his parents.  The boy was played
by Bobby Driscoll, who was awarded a special
Oscar.
