Movies for the Day, Friday, January 18, 2019

Today's movies mark the birthdays of Daniel Webster, Cary Grant, and Oliver Hardy.

Which of today's movies would you watch?

The Devil and Daniel Webster (1941) is
about a nineteenth century farmer who turns to
Daniel Webster to extricate him from a Faustian
bargain with the devil.  This very good movie
is based on the work of Stephen Vincent Benet. Aka
All That Money Can Buy.

Arsenic and Old Lace (1944) is a
a very good comedy murder thriller based
on a play.  It stars Cary Grant, born January
18, 1904.  A real classic.

Laurel and Hardy's Laughing 20's (1965)
is a compilation/anthology of some of the
classic comedy duo's best shorts.  Stan
Laurel was born June 16, 1890, and Oliver Hardy
was born January 18, 1892.  A very good movie.
