Today's movies mark Australia's national day, Paul Newman's birthday, and India's national day.

Which of today's movies would you watch?










The Overlanders (1946) is about a
cattle drive set in Australia during the
World War II years.  This is a very good
movie.  Australia Day is January 26
(1788).

Cool Hand Luke (1967) is an inspiring
movie about a prison camp and race.  It won
an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, to George
Kennedy.  It features an American Film Institute
Great Quote, ""What we've got here is a failure to
communicate."  It also features an AFI Hero,
Luke Jackson.  This movie, which is on the National
Film Registry, stars Paul Newman, born January
26, 1925.  Kennedy was born February 18, 1927.

Slumdog Millionaire (2008) is a drama and
romance set in India featuring a poor boy on a
game show.  January 26 is India's National Day.
This movie won many Oscars, including for Best Picture,
Directing, Writing, Cinematography, Sound, Editing,
Original Song, and Original Score.
