Jewish life in 1940s Brooklyn. It is
based on a novel by Chaim Potok, born
February 17, 1929. Also a Broadway
musical. A very good movie.

Solomon Northrup's Odyssey (1984) is
a TV movie based on Northrup's autobiography
12 Years a Slave about a black man from
the North in the 1940s kidnapped into
slavery. February is Black History Month.
