The Apartment (1960) is a great comedy
about business and romance.  It went to
Broadway as the musical Promises, Promise.
This passionate movie is on the National Film
Registry and won Oscars for Best Picture,
Director, to Billy Wilder, Writing, Art Direction/
Set Decoration, and Film Editing.  It stars Jack
Lemmon, born February 8, 1925, and Shirley
MacLaine, born April 24, 1934.

Sherman's March (1986) is about a
filmmaker who sets out to document
Sherman's march to the sea in the Civil War
but it becomes a romantic odyssey retracing
and examining Southern womanhood with a
hilarious subplot involving Burt Reynolds.  It is on
the National Film Registry.  William Tecumseh Sherman
was born February 8, 1820.
