Today's movies mark the birthdays of Shirley Temple and Shakespeare and World Book Day.

musical starring America's favorite child actress,
Shirley Temple, born April 23, 1928.  This movie is on
the National Film Registry.

adaptation of Macbeth by Shakespeare,
transposing the famous tragedy from
Scotland to feudal Japan.  Shakespeare
was born April 23, 1564.

Morris Lessmore (2011) is a film about
a mysterious library where books literally
come to life.  This short film won an Oscar
for Animation.  Today is UNESCO World
Book Day.
