charged South solve a murder. This movie won Oscars

It features an American Film Institute hero, Virgil
Tibbs, and an AFI quote, "They call me Mister Tibbs!"

In the Heat of the Night
The Killing Fields (1984) is about the genocide
in Cambodia that followed that country's fall to the
Khmer Rouge on April 17, 1975. This inspiring
movie won Oscars for Supporting Actor, to
Haing S. Ngor, Cinematography, and Film
Editing.
