Today's movies mark the birthdays of Mary Pickford and Sonja Henie and Jazz and Blues Appreciation Month.

tries to protect orphans at a secretive and
cruel orphanage.  This silent film features
Mary Pickford in one of her best
performances.  Pickford was born April
8, 2018.

about an ice skater torn between
a manager's desire to showcase
her in ice skating shows and her desire
to go the Olympics.  This movie is
a vehicle to showcase Sonja Henie, the
Olympic ice skater.  Henie was born
April 8, 1912.

band in Chicago.  April is Jazz and Blues
Appreciation Month.
