Today, April 3, is Doris Day's birthday; she was
born in 1924. Day starred in several romantic
comedies, including Pillow Talk (1959). It was
awarded an Academy Award for Writing and is
listed on the National Film Registry.

Today is the Championship game of
the Men's NCAA Basketball
Championship and thus the end of
"March Madness." That Championship
Season (1982) is the story of a reunion
many years later of a high school
basketball championship squad. It is
based on a Pulitzer Prize winning play
by Jason Miller.
That Championship Season
Chicago (2002) traces its inspiration to an
April 3, 1924, alleged murder by a married
woman, Beulah Annan, of her lover. It
mainly tells the story of the fictional accused
Roxie Hart. Chicago won Oscars for Best Picture,
Supporting Actress, to Catherine Zeta Jones,
Art Direction/Set Decoration, Costume Design,
Sound and Editing. The story, set in the roaring '20s
was previously filmed as Chicago (1927)
and Roxie Hart (1942) and was a Broadway
musical.
