Today's movies mark a World War I campaign, the birthday of John Philip Sousa, and the birthday of actress Sally Field.
The Lost Patrol (1934) is about a British
patrol lost in the Mespotamian desert and under
attack by soldiers of the Ottoman
Empire. This story takes place during the
Mespotamian campaign of World War I,
from November 6 to November 14, 1918. This
is an excellent movie.
The Lost Patrol
Stars and Stripes Forever (1952) is a
biography of patriotic bandleader and
composer John Philip Sousa, born
November 6, 1854. This is also a
patriotic week- Election Day is tomorrow
and Veterans Day is Saturday.
Stars and Stripes Forever
The Flying Nun (September 7, 1967 to April 3, 1970)
starred Sally Field in this fondly remembered
television comedy series. The name says it all.
Field was born November 6, 1946.
