Today's movies mark the birthday of Roy Rogers, a car race, and the birthday of actress Tilda Swinton.




Under Western Stars (1938) features the
singing cowboy, Roy Rogers, born
November 5, 1911.  Roy is elected to
Congress and brings awareness of the Dustbowl
to Washington, D.C. politicians.  This movie
is on the National Film Register.  It is also
a good movie for Election Day, just two days
away.

Genevieve (1953) is a comedic
look at the annual London to
Brighton Veteran Car Run, held
today, November 5, 2017.  The movie
focuses on two couples in their
roadsters in the cross country race. The race
is billed as the world's longest running
motoring event.

Michael Clayton (2007) is about law firm and
corporate intrigue.  Tilda Swinton won
an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress.  She was
born November 5, 1960.  The movie was
nominated for an Oscar as Best Picture.
