opera type movie about a poor naive woman
who marries a wealthy charismatic man. The
movie won an Oscar for Supporting Actress, to
Agnes Moorehead, born December 6, 1900.

Appalachian Autumn (1970) is a teleplay episode of
CBS Playhouse about poverty in the coal
mining town of Harper's Gap, West Virginia,
and an AmeriCorps Vista volunteer. It was source
material for the television series, The Waltons.
