about life in Ontario, Canada, without
narration or dialogue.  It won an Oscar
for Best Short Live Action Subject.  July 1
(1867) is Canada Day.

The Green Mile (1999) is about death
row in Louisiana in 1935.  It has fantasy
elements.  It is based on a Stephen King
book.  The United States Supreme Court banned
the death penalty June 29, 1972, but then reinstated
it July 2, 1976.
