Movies for the Day, Saturday, October 19, 2019

Today's movies mark China's national holiday, the birthday of Fannie Hurst, and Halloween.

Which of today's movies would you watch?

The Bitter Tea of General Yen (1933) is about
a romance between a Chinese warlord and a
missionary.  China's national day is October 1
(1949).  This is a very good movie.

a tearjerker about a career driven actress; it includes
race issues.  It is
based on a novel by Fannie
Hurst, born October 19, 1885.
This movie is on the National Film
