Movies for the Day, Saturday, January 6, 2018

Today's movies mark the birthday of Sherlock Holmes, the entry of New Mexico into the Union, and an anniversary of a Boston Globe investigation into the Catholic Church.

The Scarlet Claw (1944) is one of the
better entries in the many Sherlock Holmes
movies.  Holmes' birthday is often deduced
as January 6, 1854.  Holmes' creator, Sir
