Today's movies mark the birthdays of three entertainers:  Cary Grant, Danny Kaye, and Kevin Costner.





His Girl Friday (1940) is a comedy about
the battle of the sexes and journalism.  It is
a remake of The Front Page.  It is on the
National Film Registry.  It stars Cary
Grant, born January 18, 1904.

The Court Jester (1956) is a
comedy starring Danny Kaye
in one of his best performances.
Kaye was born January 18, 1913.
This movie is on the National Film
Registry.

Dances With Wolves (1990) is an inspiring
western about a Civil War soldier in South
Dakota who becomes involved with wolves and
the Sioux Indians to the detriment of his persona in the
military.  The movie is on the National Film
Registry and won Oscars for Best Picture, Directing,
to Kevin Costner who also starred, Writing,
Cinematography, Sound, Film Editing, and Original
Score.  Costner was born January 18, 1955.  Native
Americans Day in South Dakota is the second Monday
in October.
