Movies for the Day, Sunday, February 4, 2018

Today's movies mark the birthday of musician Alice Cooper, the Super Bowl, and the birthday of Rosa Parks (and Black History Month).

Alice Cooper:  The Nightmare (1975) is a
conceptual television special showcasing music
from Welcome To My Music, an album by
Alice Cooper, who was born February 4, 1948.
Surreal.  It won an Emmy for Editing.

Mighty Times:  The Legacy of Rosa
Parks (2002) is a short documentary about
civil rights icon Rosa Parks, born February
4, 1913, whose arrest on December 1, 1955, for refusing to move to the back of a bus has been called  the
birth of the modern civil rights movement.  December
1 is Rosa Parks Day.  February is Black History Month and
I am featuring African American theme movies during
this first week of February.   Parks is pictured in 1955
with Martin Luther King Jr.
