a Disney movie based on the classic Jules
Verne science fiction/fantasy adventure story
about a futuristic submarine, the Nautilus, and
its Captain Nemo. Verne, often considered the
father of science fiction, was born February 8,
1828. The movie won Oscars for Art/Decoration
and Special Effects.

John Steinbeck classic about two brothers
in a dysfunctional family. It won Oscars for
Supporting Actress, to Jo Van Fleet, born

Dean, born February 8, 1931.

The Firm (1993) is about a Memphis law
firm and its dark side. It is based on the
bestselling novel by John Grisham, born
February 8, 1955.
