El Norte (1983) is about a brother and
sister escaping the violence and hopelessness
of Guatemala and travelling north to the United
States. This movie is on the National Film
Registry. Guatemala Independence Day is
September 15, 1821. Hispanic Heritage Month
begins September 15.
