Today's movies mark the founding of Los Angeles, back to school month, and the beginning of high school football.  Which of today's selections would you watch?







Chinatown (1974) is a thrilling movie mystery about
a private eye and corruption in Los Angeles in
the 1930s.  It features an American Film Institute
Villain, Noah Cross, and an AFI Score.  It won
an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.  It is on the
National Film Registry.  Los Angeles was founded
September 4, 1781.

Welcome to the Dollhouse (1996)
is about a seventh grade girl dealing
with puberty, other girls, school, family
and the suburbs.  It is a black comedy.
September is traditionally back to school
month.

Friday Night Lights (October 3, 2006 to
February 9, 2011) is a television series about
small town high school football in Texas.  It won
Emmys in 2007 for Casting and in 2011 for Lead Actor,
to Kyle Chandler, and for Writing.  It was preceded by
the movie of the same name in 2004.  High school
football traditionally starts in September.
