Today's movies mark National Aviation Day, VISTA, and an Australian expedition.








Zero Hour! (1957) is about a potential
air disaster.  It was later spoofed in 1971
as Airplane!  Yesterday was National Aviation
Day and also Orville Wright's birthday.  This
week is National Aviation Week.

is a documentary that won an Oscar for
Short Subjects about VISTA, which is
based on a law signed August 20,
1964.

first expedition to attempt a crossing
of the Australian continent.  It began
August 20, 1860.
