Today's movies mark International Youth Day, a computer anniversary, and the birthday of Peter Browngardt.







What a Life (1939) is the first in a series
of popular films about a teenage boy:  the
Henry Aldrich series.  Today
is United Nations International Youth Day.

War Games (1983) is about a computer
whiz-kid who almost starts WW III by
mistake.  The IBM PC was introduced just
two years prior to this film, on August
12, 1981.

Secret Mountain Fort Awesome (August 1, 2011 to
February 17, 2012) is an animated TV series which
aired on the Cartoon Network about a fraternity of five
monsters, the Disgustoids, trying to live awesome lives.
Each episode is only about 11 minutes. The episode
Nightmare Sauce won an Emmy for Outstanding
Animation.  The series was created by Peter Browngardt,
born August 12, 1979, who was also involved in many
other aspects of the series.
