Today's movies mark the birthday of Mike Douglas, the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, and the birthday of Hulk Hogan.








The Mike Douglas Show (1961 to 1982) is an
afternoon talk show starring Mike Douglas, born
August 11, 1925.  It focused on entertainment
celebrities and combined comedy, music and talk.
Douglas won an Emmy in 1967.  There are 4005
episodes.

Friendly Fire (1979) is a television
movie about parents who try to discover
the details of their son's death in Vietnam
by friendly fire.  This movie won Emmys
for Directing, Sound Editing, Music
Composition, and Outstanding Drama or
Comedy Special.  Based on a real life story.
This continues our Vietnam War series in
recognition of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution
passed by Congress on August 7, 1964,
authorizing broad military action in Vietnam.

professional wrestling which stars Hulk
