Today's movies mark a famous horse race anniversary, the birthday of author Stephen Crane, and American Indian Heritage Month.



The Story of Seabiscuit (1949) is the story
of one of the most famous horse races of all
time when Seabiscuit beat War Admiral on
November 1, 1938, at Baltimore's Pimlico
race course.

The Red Badge of Courage (1951) is
about a Union soldier finding the courage
to fight during a heated battle in the
Civil War.  It is based on the classic
novel by Stephen Crane, who was born
November 1, 1871.

in which an older Indian relays Indian
stories to his troubled grandson.  November
is American Indian Heritage Month.
