Today's movies celebrate Halloween and the birthdays of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt and entertainer Jerome Robbins.




The Old Dark House (1932) is a classic
horror comedy movie with stranded
travelers in a mysterious household.  Perfect
for Halloween month.  A real chiller.

is a biography of the First Lady, born
October 11, 1884.  She lived an
extraordinary life.  The film
won an Oscar for Best Feature
Documentary.

With Jerome Robbins (1980) was a TV
special featuring the great producer,
director, choreographer, and dancer whose
main medium was classical ballet.  He is
pictured at right in 1968.  He was born
October 11, 1918.  The special won Emmys
for Technical Direction and Electronic
Camerawork and for Outstanding Classical
Program in the Performing Arts.
